Juneau State Office Building

For more than 15 years, NORTECH has provided asbestos-related environmental and industrial hygiene services for the Juneau State Office Building. Our work has included hazardous materials surveys, construction planning, and design support for multiple abatement projects throughout the facility.

Most recently, our team prepared design plans for the removal of asbestos-containing spray-on fireproofing within the building’s elevator shafts, scheduled for abatement in 2025. In addition, NORTECH’s industrial hygiene professionals are supporting DOT&PF and R&M Consultants to evaluate potential occupant exposures and update a comprehensive Asbestos Management Plan.

Through ongoing monitoring, abatement planning, and occupant safety programs, NORTECH has supported the State of Alaska in responsibly managing known asbestos hazards while maintaining a safe and healthy workplace in one of Juneau’s largest office buildings.
