Henry (Al) Affinito

Al is a 27-year United States Coast Guard Veteran with a degree in Applied Science focusing on Occupational Safety and Health (University of Alaska, Anchorage). He has broad experience conducting demolition assessments and overseeing a variety of remediation projects, including heavy metals, PCB’s, asbestos, and radon. Al is a certified EPA AHERA Inspector and Environmental Risk Assessor with extensive experience in the Health and Safety field encompassing shoreside, maritime, and aviation work environments. He has over 25 years’ experience performing atmospheric monitoring, confined space entry, worker exposure monitoring, and chemical, biological, and radiological detection / monitoring / defense. As a Certified Occupational Hearing Conservationist, his expertise in personal exposure monitoring spans across a variety of industrial settings.

Al’s experience is not only confined to noise monitoring, but also extends to conducting detailed hazardous noise studies and noise mapping for newly commissioned, long-established industrial, and government facilities. He is a highly skilled safety inspector and was responsible for conducting health and safety inspections for Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) compliance for more than 450 structures, including industrial, food preparation, medical, and administrative facilities. This experience has allowed him to help numerous clients resolve OSHA/AKOSH citations and increase the overall safety at their facilities.  He possesses superior knowledge in hazardous materials assessments, mishap prevention, investigation, Indoor Air Quality (IAQ), and developing corrective actions. Moreover, Mr. Affinito is an experienced instructor in occupational safety, fire prevention, and hazardous materials management, having also served as an Adjunct Instructor for Occupational Safety and Health at The University of Alaska.
