Kirsten has worked in the environmental field since 1988. Her vast experience provides a unique advantage when it comes to regulatory compliance. As a Spill Prevention and Response Planning Specialist, Kirsten inspects all manners of statewide Alaska Department of Environmental Conservation regulated facilities for compliance with state and federal rules including oil terminal facilities, exploration and production facilities, oil tank barges, oil tankers, and crude oil transmission pipelines.

Kirsten has prepared and reviewed permit-related documents, plans, and applications, as well as compliance-related tools and documents, such as Oil Discharge Prevention and Contingency Plans, Oil Spill Response Plans, Spill Prevention, Control and Countermeasure (SPCC) Plans, Health and Safety Programs, Spill Reporting matrixes, Environmental Assessments, Environmental Impact Statements, Hazardous Response Plans, and conducted the field activities associated with environmental monitoring, baseline environmental studies, compliance and discharge exercises (Spill Drills).
